Beyonce’s Protégés Chloe x Halle Deliver Cute Video For “Do It”

Chloe x Halle recently released their new single “Do It,” the first single off their forthcoming sophomore studio album, Ungodly Hour, which drops on June 5.

The track is supported by a stunning companion visual and new viral dance challenge on TikTok called #DOITchallenge.

Soon, the Grammy winner had signed the duo to her entertainment company, Parkwood Entertainment, and she has since mentored them along the way, calling them “so amazingly talented.” In March 2018, Chloe x Halle released their debut album, The Kids Are Alright, and that same year joined the cast of Freeform’s Grown-ish. And last year, after much speculation, Disney announced they had cast Halle to play Ariel in their live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.

Move Incredible Podcast EP 3: Ft. JaXon

Episode three (3) of the Move Incredible Podcast hits on a bunch of items surrounding identity. According to the Dictionary, identity is who a person is, or the qualities of a person or group that make them different from others. This description includes race, sex, neighborhood, and sometimes artistic branding. It is who you classify as, which is a definition left to the individual. In this episode, JusMusic and Ms. Simone converse with the intellectual savvy and independent R&B artist JaXon about matters relating to identity, especially as a recording artist.

JaXon, formerly known as Bryan J, offers his candid experience with identity as it relates to artistic branding and who he is today. JaXon provides down-home fused anecdotes to drive his point. We also talked with JaXon about the state of music in the pandemic and novice ideas to support artists and their craft. With the current pandemic, many people will need to create more ideas to produce something different to keep their work alive.

With change, we all have to figure out how to get through our new way of living. The MI team and JaXon exchange new lessons learned when life is altered. With that said, how does JaXon Move Incredible; he gives insight on how he supports his family and community on a consistent basis.

Listen to “Revenge” by JaXon

I embrace my identity.

I accept that the person I am is the person I am meant to be. My circumstances, physical appearance and personality are all part of the divine plan of my Creator. I love the person I am.

When I am faced with negative circumstances, I steadfastly avoid feeling discouraged. Instead, I use the positive virtues I am blessed with to deal with the situation and come out victorious.

I realize that there may sometimes be others around me who dislike me, for whatever reason. Even so, I am satisfied with knowing that I am the best me I can be.

My body and facial features may be different than what society deems flawless, but I am exactly how I should be, so I embrace my physical appearance as well.

I live according to my own decisions, based on my own circumstances, rather than what others expect of me. I recognize that it is impossible to always live up to the expectations of others and be at peace at the same time.

Today, I commit to loving myself just the way I am. Even when others want me to fit into a certain mold, I remain unmoved. I feel certain that I am the way I should be.

Wale Flips The White and Black Perspective in “Sue Me” Video

To say Wale’s music video for “Sue Me” is powerful would be an understatement.

In his new seven-minute short film, the Washington D.C. artist paints a vivid picture of the socio-economical struggles faced by Black Americans. In delivering the powerful his message, the talented rapper tells the story through the lens of White Americans as he 1) shows that he is pro-black and 2) gives a peak of “what if the shoe was on the other foot.”

The GRAMMY® Award-nominated rapper/actor/poet recruited renowned designer and creative director Kerby Jean-Raymond for the surreal clip that depicts an alternate reality of how Black Americans are normally treated. The inner city narrative follows a struggling white teen, played by Oscar nominee Lucas Hedges [Manchester By The Sea, Honey Boy, Waves], who sees life on the other side for the first time. Reimagining brand names, a “White People Meet” billboard watches over the sprawl as the protagonist visits a “Morebucks Coffee” only to be forcibly escorted out as Wale films the reversed racial profiling on his phone. All the stereotypes of Black Americans like being in prison, including dying in jail from Coronavirus, and being harassed in society take center stage. It’s a thought-provoking and painstaking climax of the Black American struggle.

Wale stated about the video: “What if you could walk through a day in the life of an average African American young man? What would you see? What would you hear? What would you face? We wanted to redefine the whole narrative and allow everybody to step into these shoes. I’ve never been more proud of a video than what we did here. Kerby really brought this vision to life, and Reebok helped make it a reality. I hope it makes you think a little. While you’re thinking, stay safe and stay home!”

“Sue Me,” featuring R&B singer Kelly Price, appears on Wale’s sixth studio album, Wow… That’s Crazy, released in October 2019.

Now, this is how you #MoveIncredible. Whatever talents we are blessed with, there are always ways to use it to impact the lives of others. Wale is brilliant and this video is monumental.

Move Incredible Podcast EP 4: #YouAintSmart

In episode four (4) of the Move Incredible Podcast, co-host JusMusic and Ms. Simone introduce the #YouAintSmart campaign. This topic provides a platform to discuss the impact of opinions on social media and how our emotions drive our behavior and responses.

During the show, JusMusic & Ms. Simone illustrate how trending topics can stimulate emotions and how we work through those emotions online.

The headline from The Breakfast Club interview with Charlamagne tha God and Joe Biden is a sensitive and controversial topic that rubbed many people wrong! Charlemagne’s poised demeanor and the ability to correct Joe Biden after the statement, “if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,” showed intellectual discipline.

This interview received a lot of traction because of the current state of black and minority communities. Move Incredible wants to bring this conversation out to help us understand that taking to Social Media to vent without any action doesn’t change our circumstances; it is only your opinion. The discussion brings us back to how we can move incredible in our communities and empower us to be change agents wherever we are.

Lastly, Jus and Ms. Simone provide some tips to help you establish ways to educate yourself on topics that are unknown yet important to your well being. Complaining and not voting are ways that defeat the purposes and do not give meaning to the martyrs of past and present times. The duo shouts out some individuals that are Moving Incredible based on their words and actions. Shaun King and Bruce Franks, Jr.: both gentlemen have used their social media and actions to facilitate change in their community and the world.

The #YouAintSmart campaign isn’t about those that may not have completed a formal education. The ability to think comes from you having a yearning desire to want more for yourself. Ask questions like, does this sound right? Where can I learn more about this? What is this saying to me? These questions force you to challenge others and yourself to find and get the truth.

Move Incredible Podcast EP 2: Ft. Guordan Banks

Welcome to another dosage of knowledge surrounding music, lifestyle, and urban culture.

Episode two of the Move Incredible podcast features an open conversation with talented R&B singer, songwriter, and producer, Guordan Banks. Hosted by Jus Music and Simone G., discussions include topics like the Coronavirus, giving back, the current life situation for many artists, and of course, details about Guordan’s latest studio album, ‘Blood on the Vinyl.’

“This album is really going to have its moment this year. I released it last year, but I knew that the album would take time because that’s just my journey… I understand how important patience is,” Guordan says about the project.

Guordan also spoke candidly about his Mirror Musician Fund and trying to help the struggling musicians and artists, especially due to hardship caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.

“It only resonates with me because I’ve been there,” he said. “As an artist, as a writer, there’s been many nights where I didn’t have a place to lay my head. There’s many nights where I barely had food to eat; [there are] nights where I didn’t eat at all. So to understand where the industry is and how the industry works; you see a lot of producers and a lot of artists…when Live Nation and all touring entities shut down completely, [the people] that rely on these services, what are they gonna do?”

Move Incredible Podcast EP 1: Motives

Here is a dynamic dosage of music, love, entrepreneurship, and just good conversation. In the Move Incredible (MI) Podcast, you will hear the voices of various guests as we discuss urban music, culture, lifestyle, and current events that are related to societal times from a Generation X point of view.

In the first episode, MI host Jus Music and Mrs. Simone discuss motives and how it affects music. Do motives influence creativity? Listen to the duo as they explain some motives behind music.

Artistry propels others to reinvent themselves continuously. Does reinvention of oneself cause a person to re-evaluate the purposes that thy create music? Do their motives change?

Jus and Simone then transcend to motives within interpersonal relationships. Motives and intent are foundational tools in understanding how you receive communicative messages. Misunderstanding such messages affect friendships and business partnerships. Are you able to read the messages? WAGNN Podcast EP 9: Disciplining Your Child (Spank or Nah)

In Episode 9, the WAGNN team discusses parental discipline. Discipline is a controversial topic that varies across cultures, beliefs, and the influence of life experiences. Often time, parents, guardians, or caregivers have misconceptions about disciplining children. Is there a place for discipline? Is there a wrong and right way to discipline your child? The WAGNN team tackles these questions and more.

With the numerous headlines that have become national news with the growing deaths of children at the hands of their caregivers, WAGNN opens the conversation with appropriate versus inappropriate ways of disciplining children. This topic will help parents review their techniques to envoke a dialogue to ensure the safety of our children.

Parents are also unaware of their disciplinary rights to correct unwanted behavior. Most states have a penal code that puts this topic into perspective. This code is researchable by State as it relates to disciplining children.

Also, in episode 9, the WAGNN ladies give personal accounts of disciplinary experiences and the lessons learned from their parental tactics. The ladies discuss different tactics their parents used or practice themselves with their family members. The information is shared to provide insight for parents wanting to figure out if they are teaching their children properly through discipline. Though there is not a perfect answer, parents should know that each child is different and require different levels of attention.

We also challenge parents to have conversations with their children and set expectations they are to follow. Also, discipline is a progressional form of teaching and not a one-shot deal. Children require attention, training, and verbal reaffirmation about their behavior. Lastly, discipline begins when the child can understand on their level a form of right and wrong. We sometimes underestimate the level of understanding our children possess. Tune in to hear the full podcast and enjoy!

We challenge you to open your ears and thoughts while expanding your knowledge and understanding of people, situations, and cultures. Please leave your comments below; good, bad, or indifferent, we welcome all opinions and feedback.

Jackie’s Boy Releases “Do It Again” Ft Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman

Accomplished singer and songwriter Jackie’s Boy joint forces with music legend Shawn Stockman (of Boyz II Men) for the sensual and intoxicating new single, “Do It Again.” On the record, 4 Time Grammy-Nominated Songwriter and ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Winner spice up bedrooms with stirring vocals and heartstrings-pulling melodies.

When asked about the inspiration for the record he stated, “I wanted to make something unique and progressive for R&B lovers. I emailed a rough version of the song to Shawn to check out. He came to the studio and said: “Where’s that song you sent me?” I knew exactly what he was talking about. He recorded his verse in 10 minutes! I was extremely impressed and blown away I was working with a true legend. I think this record feels different than others because it speaks to both new R&B lovers and classic R&B lovers alike.”

Carlos Battey, artistically known by his stage name Jackie’s Boy, has written hits for Madonna, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Charlie Wilson, Johnny Gil, Jay Sean, Becky G, Jake Miller, Bruno Mars, Flo-rida and Chris Brown. His first big break was with Flo-rida and his first Grammy came with working with Madonna.

When asked what inspired him to become an artist, he said it was his near-death experience that made him realize how short life could be.

He stated, “I had started to get a lot of headaches – they were bad. I initially thought it was my wisdom teeth but it wasn’t. After having an X-Ray a large tumor was found, growing on the inside of my jaw. It turns out that the cancer was an unusual kind known as Ameloblaseoma (it’s so rare, in fact, that it accounts for less than one percent of the worlds tumors – Ed.) I decided to go to Miami after finding a great surgeon and I had a 3-month recovery instead of the one-year recovery being quoted in LA. I believe that experience led me to understand the true meaning of having just one life, just one voice and I realized that, whilst writing for others is great financially it was time to create music as an artist. I actually made a pact with God that I would never take those gifts for granted again.”

Jackie’s Boy is destined has his sights set on superstar status.

5 Ways to Improve Mental Toughness

You’ve been thinking about sharing a secret with a friend, but you can’t find the words. Or, you’ve had an incredible business idea that’s been paying dividends, but you’re afraid of leaving your job to focus on it full-time because of the fair of failure. These are just two examples of the many challenges life throws at us daily, and we need to be mentally ready.

There are many ways to categorize how people cope with their realities. Mental toughness is a theme that propels us to look at how we compartmentalize our levels of success.

Two ways to classify people are mentally healthy and mentally vulnerable. Mentally vulnerability is a result of indecisiveness, trauma, lack of achievement, and encouragement, to name a few.

It’s easy for you to think of someone that’s mentally strong and another as weak. We created some tips to introduce how to become mentally stronger, maintain stability, and encourage yourself to complete goals. We walk you through how to increase security, confidence, set, and complete goals. All of these points intertwine to create a positive view of working on yourself.

  1. Getting started! Taking the initiative is a coping skill that matures over time from our younger years. Talking is just one step towards taking action; doing something different counts. Formulating a plan is a way to build a reaction to work towards goal completion. Some of us are good at getting started, but most quickly run out of gas. Sometimes you may do a decent job of planning, but never taking the first step when it comes time to take action. Lack of focus is another factor that may cause a person to either jump from one idea to the other or being distracted easily. Centering yourself with meditation and mindfulness are some options of many to increase attentiveness.
  2. Finish. Everyone does not share the excitement of completing a task or project, making finishing a problem for some people. Tip #1 is only part of the battle. Continous reminders and efforts are the best ways to ensure the improvement or completion of your goals. Some tools utilized to track progression are calendars and journals. Take relevant breaks and review your goals. Reviewing your goals serves as a conduit to reminding yourself of what is important to you.
  3. Finding Success in the Darnest Places. It’s necessary to do some difficult things. These problematic things might require a few failed attempts, learning something challenging, or simply doing something uncomfortable. Acceptance of failure is not an acceptance of defeat. Every day is the opportunity to re-assess, make adjustments, and try again. In finding success, accepting freely given positive feedback is a want, not a need. Look for the good in you, to encourage yourself to continue with your goal(s).
  4. Change is a wonderful opportunity for growth and progress. Those with established coping skills will take advantage of change, while others may feel apprehensive or stagnant. Welcoming change can be troublesome, yet realizing change can come in small doses, just one day at a time. A drastic change can create an atmosphere of self-doubt and more failed attempts necessary. Therefore, setting realistic and timed goals can set an atmosphere of change. Trust the process.
  5. Take risks. Taking risks is the next step in making your commitment to become mentally healthy. Taking risks works as a catalyst for change. Calculated risks are a part of creating success. These steps afford people to avoid taking foolish risks or playing the game of life too conservatively. Finding the middle ground in this process will be beneficial.

Tips 1-5 will help to build security and confidence in oneself. With security created, you are then able to congratulate others without malicious intent. This security allows you to feel happy for others when they achieve something positive or share the good news. Security promotes happiness from within. Becoming mentally healthy is not a you against the world problem, but an awareness of areas you need to work on day by day. Examples of increasing mental toughness are meditation, mindfulness, prayer, and or engaging in a hobby. Your mental toughness will become stronger as you set small goals and achieve them with success. If you fail at multiple attempts, reevaluate your plan, and make changes.

The best is yet to come! Why not try to do something different today!

Brandy Celebrates ‘Baby Mamas’ + Parenting Tips For Working Mothers

“It takes a village to raise em, we don’t do it all by ourselves,” Brandy soulfully delivers on her newly released single, “Baby Mama,” featuring Chance The Rapper.

Produced by Hit-Boy & Brandy, “Baby Mama” features classic vocal tones and stacked harmonies, unique to her sound. The song serves as an ode to raising her daughter Sy’rai and a larger anthem to all mothers working hard to support their family. Brandy also coos, “This song ain’t just for me, it’s for every mama yeah…Every day I breathe it’s for my little mama…I’m every woman and a baby mama.”

About the song, Brandy says, “My new single is about embracing the strength and fortitude needed not only in motherhood but in life. I am thrilled that Chance joined me on this track, and I hope my fans find it as uplifting as I intended it to be!”

The supported music video was directed by Derek Blanks, with creative director Frank Gatson. The clip features a glowing and vibrant Brandy as she grooves to choreographed dance moves. Chance The Rapper’s verse corresponds with the song’s theme by providing support to women.

Rich, poor, or indifferent, life is a balancing act for most of us, but this is especially true for working moms. According to the Center for American Progress, “women now make up half of all workers in the United States, with nearly 4 in 10 homes having a mom that is also a working mother.” Trying to juggle your career, duties as a wife or single parent, and the responsibilities to your children can be challenging and overwhelming. However, each day can also be rewarding and exciting.

Try these tips to effectively cope with the pressures and demands of your incredibly busy life:

  1. Separate your family and work time. Many of us are still working from home because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although this may be complicated for some, you must set proper boundaries to provide adequate attention to each of your roles. No scheduling solution is perfect, but the effort alone will pay big dividends in your stress level and effectiveness as a parent and career woman. When you’re working, concentrate on work. Similarly, leave work alone when you’re giving your family your undivided attention. You’ll get more done in less time and feel less stressed.
  2. Make plans with your kids for the weekend. “You had kids because you wanted a family, so slow down and enjoy them by doing something fun together,” states Dr. Sarah Allen, Ph.D. Allow your kids to choose the activity they wish on the weekend. This communicates value to your children and lets them know that they’re important to you. During this time, focus exclusively on them and enjoy your time together.
  3. Enjoy dinner together as a family. Whether you are in a one parent or two parent home, it’s very important to eat as a family. By eating meals together, it increases the family bond and delivers a daily time for the whole family to feel united. Turn off your cell phones and any distracting gadgets during this time so work cannot interfere.
  4. Show your children what you do. Let your children know about your career, why it’s important to you, and why it’s important to them. The more they know about how mom spends her day, the more accepting they’ll be of your absence while you’re working.
  5. Give your kids chores. Doing chores is a tradition in many families. Chores help kids learn responsibility, and sharing chores gives you help around the house. Parenting expert Jim Fay, a co-founder of the Love and Logic website, says we all need to feel needed and to know that we’re making a contribution — even kids. “But they can’t feel that way if they don’t have chores and make contributions to the family,” Fay says. Make sure the chores you give your children are age-appropriate. No, you can’t have your three-year-old take out the garbage or put away groceries.
  6. Find hobbies that you all enjoy. If your children are passionate about something that you also enjoy, this gives you an outlet to experience regular quality time with them and rejuvenating recreation at the same time.
  7. Vacation once a year. Parenting can be both wonderful and exhausting, so if it’s in the budget, a yearly family vacation is essential. Choose a destination that you and your kids all agree on. Make sure the vacation offers something enjoyable for everyone. Most importantly, leave work at work.
  8. Bond with other working moms. Bonding with other mothers is especially important for single moms because it will help you cope with daily challenges as well as create an escape from your norm. Having a network of people who understands your situation can be a great source of sanity.
  9. Thank your village. You’re not parenting alone, so make sure to find special ways to thank and/or reward the people in your corner. Not only will it brighten their day, it will also make you feel more connected.

By following these tips, you can bring sanity to a world that was once filled with constant chaos. You can juggle your career and family life if you make decisions that are consistent with your values. Plan your time carefully, and use your resources on the priorities that are most important.

“Baby Mama” will be featured on Brandy’s highly anticipated forthcoming album, slated for release later this year.

Angela Simmons Practices Self-Love + 9 Tips For Greater Self-Love

There is nothing more significant than inner self-love. Loving yourself is an empowering and powerful attribute to existing.

Recently, momtrepreneur and designer, Angela Simmons took to social media and served an elegant expression of self-love. She begins with the acknowledgment of her physical self and connecting unconditional love to her self-view while continuing to find strength in understanding the value of loving oneself.

Simmons states: “She’s not perfect, her weight fluctuates, she has her days when she’s not sure … she doesn’t have a 6 pack …. Throughout this all she’s learned to love herself unconditionally… because if she didn’t who would? She is me. And I am her … My strength is rooted deeper than the surface. I want to encourage you to love your body. Wherever you stand with it. It’s not easy. But it’s worth it. You are worth it. You don’t have to be what anyone( society) tells you to be. You can be YOU freely. There’s nothing more beautiful than a confident woman! Built not Bought.”

Simmons’ encouraging expressions of self-love embodies the meaning of the term! Self-Love is a personal belief or a personal boundary that protects the heart and soul of a person.

Photo: angelasimmons/Instagram

People who accept self-love, understand that perfection is not the measurement, nor should it be the foundation. Love is kind! Self-Love creates a safe place in which you engage the world. Simmons presents her ideas of self-love and how it ties to her physical and her mental health.

In our WAGNN Podcast on Self-Love, we discussed the levels of self-love and how to preserve it. Self Love includes setting boundaries within yourself and with others. Self-loathing is not an example of self-love, yet celebrating small victories is. We often judge celebrities about how they appear to us, not taking into account that they are people like us and are ok with their flaws.

The beginning stages of self-love comes from caretakers and guardians. If unfostered, delayed recognition of self-love creates difficulty in decision making interpersonally and intrapersonally. Self-Love is realized in different stages of life. By loving others and giving back, you build positive self-esteem. Below are nine ways to develop self-love.

Try these tips for discovering greater self-love. Use what apply’s to your life. For some, loving yourself might sound a little odd, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t critical. The more you love yourself, the better you’ll take care of yourself. Self-love impacts your health, longevity, self-esteem, self-confidence, and success.

Tips for discovering greater self-love:

  1. Remember your WINS. View yourself in a positive light more often. One of the easiest ways to do this is to remember your WINS. Remember your high school and/or college graduation day. Think about the time you received a promotion or became a new parent. Most people spend plenty of time remembering their failures. Try doing the opposite for a month and see what happens!
  2. Volunteer. Volunteering is a great way to boost your self-esteem. It’s easier to love yourself when you see yourself as a good person. Put your attention on someone else. You’ll enjoy the mental break, and your opinion of yourself will get a boost. You’re a good person, so remind yourself of that from time to time.
  3. Be a good friend. You know how to be a good friend, but there are times that you’re not, and you probably don’t realize it. There are many simple things to keep in mind to be a good friend, including not projecting negativity, being honest, spending time, thinking about their feelings, listening, and just being there whenever, however. Following these simple things will also improve the way your friends view and treat you, too. Everyone wins when you decide to be a good friend.
  4. Forgive yourself. You’ve made a few mistakes. Who hasn’t? That’s life. However, it’s time to forgive yourself. Dwelling on the past does stressful things to your mental and physical being. You would do the same for someone you care about, so do it for yourself.
  5. Pursue what you need rather than what you want. What you want is rarely what you need. Once you’ve taken care of your needs, you’ll be in a better position to acquire what you want. Satisfying your needs is a prime example of self-love.
  6. Get in shape. Take care of your body. When you’re eating poorly and not getting enough exercise, you’re harming yourself. Obviously, this isn’t a good example of self-love. Show yourself that you take your health seriously. You’re loving yourself every time you eat a healthy meal or exercise your body.
  7. Appreciate your uniqueness. We tend to be embarrassed about our qualities, skills, or abilities that are unique. However, the most valuable parts of you are those that are different from others. The fact that you have an elbow doesn’t make you special.
  8. Practice gratitude. Be grateful for your body, mind, and uniqueness. Be thankful for everything in your life. Your life is better than you think. You are better than you think. Be grateful, and you’ll start to believe that you deserve more love from yourself.
  9. Be as kind to yourself as you would be to anyone else. To be kinder to others than you are to yourself is just showing everyone, including yourself, that you don’t respect yourself. At the end of the day, there’s no one looking out for you. You’ll have to take on this responsibility yourself.

Self-love is an essential part of your self-development. Without self-love, your success and happiness face a huge obstacle. Set aside some time each day to build your self-esteem and self-love. Your life will be better for it.

Diddy’s ‘Thinking Had To Change’ After Kim Porter’s Death + 8 Ways to Optimize Your Mind

Life tends to get overwhelming at times, especially when you add daily responsibilities like work, kids, home, and other commitments. Many of us continue to stack our mental decks on the regular, making life more stressful. An overworked mind is fatiguing and results in poor performance and/or poor decisions.

Fear not; Things are not as bad as they sound. You can optimize your mind, just like you optimize your car or kitchen drawer.

Take, for example, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who recently had to make some real-life adjustments due to a tragic change in his life. The music mogul lost his friend and Ex, Kim Porter, and now he’s a single father with six kids to care for.

Porter tragically passed away in November 2018 at 47-years-old. Her death altered Diddy’s life; he shared four children with Porter – Quincy, 28, who he adopted during their relationship, son Christian, 21, and 13-year-old twin daughters, D’Lila and Jessie. He’s also father to two other children from previous relationships.

Now with his kids being his main priority, Diddy is making sure his children endure the best future possible.

“We’re really focused on our plan after this. Taking time to really ask the girls and ask the kids really what they want to do… we’re trying to really just plan and see what we want to take to the next step as a family,” Diddy told Naomi Campbell on her YouTube show No Filter With Naomi. “Because losing Kim and now being a single father-of-six, my thinking had to change. I had to really get focused on their futures, ’cause I know how rough it is out there.”

Diddy added that he created a company called Combs Cartel, which is a family business that his children are excited about being a part of.

“It”s really about what are the goals we’re going to set for what we’re going to do to come out of this better and stronger,” he explained. “And have more of an impact and change the narrative of the black family and the black man and woman globally as being fearless, and being intelligent and also not taking no shorts. Getting what we deserve and doing positive things with our power.”

Now, most people do not have Diddy’s resources or extensive finances, but that shouldn’t be a determining factor in improving your mindset to become more productive. It took Diddy to endure a loss to get on track, but for most people, the motivation can be much simpler!

Optimize your mind and gain clarity:

  1. Start with your diet. A poor diet can result in a loss of clarity or mental limitations. Deep-rooted beliefs, bad routines, or stress can be hard to break, but once we understand the importance of our mindset and our inner strength, change is inevitable. Mental barriers can hold you back; sometimes we don’t even realize how much. Dieting is the type of mental disciple that helps us begin to move forward.
  2. Excercise. Working out is not only good for your body, sex life, and life expectancy, it also does wonders to your mind. People who exercise regularly tend to do so because it gives them a sense of well-being. They feel more energetic throughout the day, sleep better at night, have sharper memories, and feel more relaxed and positive about themselves and their lives. Exercise is also a powerful medicine for many common mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more.
  3. Simplify your life. If you don’t know by now, sometimes life is complicated as f**k. Some of us got way too much going on like staying on top of work responsibilities, keeping up with kids, friends, family, and paying bills, all while making it seem like we’ve got your life together. If you’re nodding you’re head then you need to cut out activities that don’t add significance to your life or your enjoyment. It’s easy to get swamped by things that don’t matter. Simple doesn’t always mean easy. This will take some willpower and a whole lot of effort.
  4. Create habits. Habits eliminate the need for making decisions. It streamlines your thought process. Eating the same thing for breakfast each day is an example of a habit that avoids having to make a decision. Create daily and weekly habits that take care of your basic needs.
  5. Write things down. Creating mental notes to yourself to do something at a later day or time requires a lot of mental resources. It’s always in the back of your mind, taking up part of your attention. By writing it down, you’re free to eliminate it from your awareness. It’s right there on the paper instead.
  6. Ignore negativity. You can’t please or satisfy everybody. Whether you’re committing to a new diet, exercise routine, changing your lifestyle, or seeking out new ways to live your best life, there are always going to be people who put you down or ridicule you behind your back. Despite the negative comments, the simple trick is to ignore it (maybe add two middle fingers). You don’t need other people to tell you that you have achieved something great, nor do you need their approval. You are doing what you are doing because you believe in yourself, and you are doing what is best for you, so F the naysayers.
  7. Rest your mind each day. Reading, watching TV, or surfing the internet does not count as rest. Meditation or sitting alone can be considered rest. Sit outside and enjoy nature. Stay focused on your surroundings and avoid allowing your mind to think about anything other than your surroundings. In the words of Ayya Khema, a Buddhist teacher:

If we didn’t give the body a rest at night, it wouldn’t function very long. The only time the mind can have a real rest is when it stops thinking and only experiences. Once verbalization stops for a moment, not only is there quiet but there is a feeling of contentment. That quiet, peaceful space is the mind’s home. It can go home and relax just as we do after a day’s work when we relax the body in an easy chair.

  8. Do something kind for someone else. Your mind is too focused on your own challenges. Give it a break by helping someone else. The result is a clearer mind and a refreshed perspective.

Clutter is everywhere. Simplifying your life as much as possible can help you to gain mental clarity. Give your mind regular breaks throughout the day. Use your time as advantageously as possible. Prioritize. You’ll enjoy the peace and clarity while increasing your productivity.
