Blenda Helps Us With Our Anxiety and Fears With ‘Options’ Visual

“I never stress because I got options,” sings Blenda in her newly released music video for her latest buzz single, “Options.” The Def Jam Recordings artist is reminding people that though they are sheltered in place, things will be OK, despite their anxiety and fears.

She tells FADER: “I’ve spent the last month on Zoom and Skype hanging with friends and I’m very privileged to be able to stay in quarantine and be able to work from home. Not everyone has that option. Therefore I wanted to use my privilege to produce something positive for people to enjoy during these hard times.”

She continued: “It’s terrible that people lose loved ones and our economy is falling apart and you know this crisis really puts our societies on trial although my faith in God helps me to stay focused and positive.”

It’s very kind of Blenda to lend her voice and visual art in hopes of touching someone that’s going through something.

She also closes out the video with a verse from the Bible, Psalm 56:3: “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”

Blenda, born Blenda Shimba Kabondo, was raised in Sweden in a small Stockholm suburb by her two Congolese parents. With her father being a guitarist in their local church, she was introduced to music early and has since then studied jazz and has her roots in traditional gospel. In 2019, Blenda flew out to New York and ended up signing a record deal with legendary record label Star Trak Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings, which makes her one of the few Swedish artists to sign an American record deal and will mark her new journey on international water.
