Reader Contribution: Strategic Systemic Genocide (#ShameOnGovernorKemp)

#ShameOnGovernorKemp for reopening non-essential Georgia businesses during the #Covid19 pandemic which are overwhelmingly owned by, frequented, and employ mostly low-income/poor African-Americans, Hispanics, and Asians.⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Beginning Friday 4/24, of all business with various degrees of effective #socialdistancing capabilities, #GovKemp has strategically selected the following businesses and trades to open: ⁣⁣⁣
Cosmologists, hair designers, nail care artists, estheticians (+ schools), massage therapists, in addition to gyms, bowling alleys, body art studios… All while choosing NOT to open businesses like technology firms, financial institutions, and manufacturing companies. Mkay.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
These select businesses are also directed to operate by “following social distancing guidelines.” Silly rabbit. Massage therapists, barbers & nail techs (among others) can only serve clients through DIRECT CONTACT. They know this. So if their positions are no longer on the relief list for #Unemployment, they technically cannot claim UE benefits since they are “available” to work. Thus eliminating all these individuals from the state’s UE roll. So either show up, risk lives of racial minorities or lose benefits. Or BOTH.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Also, it’s obvious as the day is long that #Georgia is a blue city operating in a red state and that a majority of the constituents’ lives that Kemp is risking, fall into the category that had to fight to get their 2018 vote counted in the first place (#FairFight) in one of the most catastrophic voter oppression operations since the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
This isn’t about saving the economy, it’s about purposely risking thousands of lives, eliminating unpopular votes, and freeing up the UE headcount. This is deliberate, this is shameful, and this is politically-sourced selective #Genocide. This is bullshit.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
As businesses open, it doesn’t mean we have to rebuff Stay-at-Home orders. Remain informed and keep taking care of yourselves. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Stay home. Stay Alive.⁣⁣⁣
